Baker

Baker, Charlotte Emma was born 23 January 1890 in Marksbury, Somerset. She married Albert John Newman in 1926 in Keynsham, Somerset. She appears on the 1901 census for Marksbury, Somerset; 1911 for Llanfihangel y Creuddyn Upper, Cardiganshire, Wales. As Charlotte Emma Newman, she appears on the electoral rolls for 1927-1939 and on the 1939 England and Wales Register. She died in 1971 in North Cotswold, Gloucestershire.

Baker, Edward J. appears on the electoral roll for 1980. He lived at Adlestrop Park House.

NB In 1876-1877 a Baker family lived in Adlestrop, sharing their farmhouse with the Buckland, Keane and Newman families. It is possible that this house is now Manor Farm house.

"I have not much to say about Widow Baker. She has three little children. The eldest boy G. is short and mischievous; the two others are nice little girls." - R.E.Cholmondeley: Adlestrop: It's cottages and their inhabitants 1876-77.
